We recommend replacing your bow string every 12 months. Even if the string looks fine, the fibers stretch and fatigue under peak weight cycling, which slowly shifts your bow’s tune, changes your draw length, and affects arrow flight. A yearly replacement keeps your bow consistent shot after shot. If you shoot competitively or hunt hard, you may want to replace more often.
Look for fuzzing or fraying between the serving ends, peep rotation that will not stay true, loose or separating serving, wax flaking off, visible fiber damage, or a sudden shift in your arrow grouping even with the same form. Yes. You can order custom strings and pick them up to install yourself or have them installed elsewhere. Just note that in the order form. The $50 installation fee only applies if Archery Sarasota performs the installation.
We do not build crossbow strings in-house, but we order them for you from the same trusted custom string makers, GAS Bowstrings and ThreadZ Custom Bow Strings, using BCY 452 Extra material. The process is the same as everything on this page: give us your crossbow brand, make, and model, we will confirm the correct string, place the order, and install it at the shop.
