A lot of people come to us expecting a retail store, a club, or a youth-only team. Archery Sarasota is none of those. We specialize in archer and bow development, every session is one-on-one, every bow is built around the archer using it, and every solution is earned through diagnosis rather than sold off a wall. Here is how we actually work.
Our business is built around the archer, not the product. We do not stock a wall of bows to sell off the shelf. Every bow we build is specified around the individual archer, draw length, anchor point, shot process, intended discipline, and goals.
When you bring us a problem, our first move is not to sell you something. We measure, tune, diagnose, and recommend. Sometimes the recommendation is “you already have the right bow, it just needs an honest tune.” Other times it is “you have outgrown this setup, here is what a build around you would look like.” We would rather give you the honest answer than move inventory.
Our services: bow tuning, custom bow builds, custom arrows, custom bowstrings, private lessons, tournament prep, Western hunt prep, bowhunting coaching, and TAC setup & training. Every one of these is a service, not a product on a shelf.
When you book with us, you get a private slot on our outdoor range. No counter line, no waiting, no distractions. The coach or technician working with you is working only with you for that block of time.
This is not because we are exclusive. It is because the quality of work we do requires focus, tuning a bow properly, diagnosing arrow flight, dialing in a sight tape with Labradar data, coaching a shot sequence, none of these can be done well with three other customers hovering nearby.

Our clients include hunters preparing for Florida bow season and Western hunts, tournament archers competing at USA Archery, ASA, NFAA/FAA, and Easton Newberry events, Total Archery Challenge competitors needing mountain-course setup, adult beginners picking up the bow for the first time, and youth archers from age 6 and up.
Beginner lessons are taught by USA Archery Level 2 certified instructor Scott Reed at $80 per hour with all equipment provided. Advanced coaching is taught by USA Archery Level 3 certified coach Robert Gilbert at $100 per hour.
Youth who develop through our coaching and want to compete at the highest levels go on to shoot for Sarasota Archery Academy, a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit competitive youth team that Rob and Scott help run alongside two other USA Archery certified coaches. A lot of shops measure success by how many bows left the store this month. We measure it by whether the archer hit what they were trying to hit, in a competition, on a hunt, on a TAC course, or at their personal best.
If your arrow flight is clean at 80 yards when it used to wobble at 40, that is success. If you won your class at a state tournament, that is success. If you recovered the elk you had a tag for, that is success.
Everything else, the paid hour, the arrow count, the bow invoice, is the byproduct. The outcome is the point.
Your first appointment, whether it is a lesson, a tune, a build consultation, or a hunt-prep session, typically runs one to two hours. Bring your bow and any arrows or accessories relevant to the work. We will set you up at the right distance, gather data, talk through what is happening, and either resolve it in the session or map out what needs to happen in follow-up work.
If you are unsure whether your need is something we handle, call or text and ask. We would rather tell you up front “this isn’t something we specialize in” than waste your time and money on something we cannot improve.
